An opportunity exists for a storage engineer to join a Technology team in Dublin, the successful candidate will maintain the EMC enterprise storage and CommVault backup infrastructure, improve system performance, resilience and recovery, and develop new enhancements or services that meet industry best practices.

This role will require the candidate to be part of a formal support rota and it should be additionally noted that out of hours efforts will be required from time to time as part of delivering project responsibilities, specifically to implement changes that necessitate impact to production systems.

As a Storage Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Day-to-day operations of IT storage functions including allocating storage to UNIX / Linux / Windows hosts, managing network file systems, administering, data replication, initiating backup or restore operations, tracking disk usage, and resolving performance issues.
• Manage, set-up, administer, support and troubleshoot EMCEnterprise storage infrastructure and associated systems including VMWare/UNIX / Linux / Windows hosts, EMC/Commvault software and applications.
• Support performance monitoring, backups, reporting, problem identification, management, and resolution
• Create and maintain documentation to identify storage hardware, software configuration, and connectivity.
• Develop plans for hardware, systems operations, and technical procedures; provide input for disaster recovery and security plans.
• Manage storage activity such as planning, installation, operation and maintenance.

Qualifications
•B.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.

Required
•Detailed knowledge of EMC storage and NDMP, CIFS, NFS and iSCSI protocol.
•5+ years supporting large Storage Environments
•Strong problem solving experience required.
•Must demonstrate strong operating system skills in NT and UNIX/Linux.
•Good communication skills, strong interpersonal skills and able to work in a team and also independently
•Good understanding of networking


Preferred
- Reasonable knowledge of CommVault
- Perl/Shell scripting an advantage.
